Plaza Botero also called Parque de las Esculturas is an 80,729 sq. ft. outside park hosting 23 bronze sculptures given to the city by the famous Colombian artist, Fernando Botero. Botero who is a native of Medellin created and cast the bronze sculptures from his design studios in Pietra Santa, Italy along with the rest of his collection of sculptures. He is famous for his paintings and sculptures with over- exaggerated figures and voluptuous curves. Many of these same pieces have been on display previously in museums in Paris, New York and Madrid to name a few.
